After an initial interest meeting via phone in June 2017, the design engineer, Greeley and Hansen agreed to a lunch and learn at their office in Chicago in October 2017. This was followed-up by a tour at U.S. Pipe’s Bessemer, AL plant with representatives from Greeley and Hansen and the Greater Water Alliance, to include Waukesha, WI, in attendance.
During the plant tour in March 2018, Greeley and Hansen expressed their concerns on ductile iron pipe concerning: corrosion, installation cost, designing of welded outlets and pipe restraining. U.S. Pipe Sales further provided product education to Greeley and Hansen on the benefits of their ductile iron pipe, primarily TYTON Joint and HDSS pipe, high pressure restrained pipe with added deflection.
U.S. Pipe’s HDSS restrained joint pipe is unique due to its ability to provide a true 350psi working pressure rating variable. The simple robust design and deflection makes it one of the strongest on the market; it’s ideal for bridge piping, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and pipe bursting applications.
