FT Ductile has recently exported 5km of 1000mm ductile iron pipe to Sweden. The new pipeline was required to replace an old 1000mm wooden pipe to a Swedish paper mill.
The customer had a window of two weeks during a factory shutdown and required the new pipe to be delivered within that timeframe. FT Ductile won the contract based on our ability to deliver the goods quickly – from order placement to delivery in just twelve weeks. The customer was delighted with the fast turnaround and excellent service from FTD.
Wooden water pipes were once a popular choice throughout European towns and cities as the material was readily available. These days, with new technology and innovative products, the water and wastewater infrastructure has vastly improved.
